Welcome to Southleigh House and Garden
Southleigh House is a thatched property set in grounds of approximately half an acre in the Suffolk village of Hundon, about three miles from Clare. The garden was originally laid out in the 1970s but it has been redeveloped over the past eleven years by the current owners. It is now an important feature of the property with herbaceous borders, ponds and cottage-style planting. An oak pergola and a willow dome provide added interest along with a woodland garden.
Between 2010 and 2014 the garden opened under the National Gardens Scheme to raise money for charity and appeared in the prestigious Yellow Book. Other charity events in the garden have included Hundon Open Gardens and a Busking Cancer fund-raising event for Cancer Research UK. The garden has also featured in the local press. Although we are not planning to open the garden this year, we continue to work hard in the garden and to our eyes it looks more and more stunning as the weeks pass.
